Cats, houses and media

We have a number of things left to do that are causing me some sleepless nights.  The two most pressing of which are finding tenants for our house...

and a temporary home for our adorable cats...

People keep trying to reassure me that it will all work out, and I guess it will, it'll have to, but living through it is taxing on the mind.  For several years before I left work, I longed for something exciting to happen, and it did, and now I long for normality!

Whilst setting up the blog I tried to find a photo of the 3 of us, at any time over the last 8 years.  Was horrified to discover not a single one exists!  Dad P will have to help rectify this next time we see them.  In the mean time I thought I'd include this photo of Callum, just so you know what he looks like now.

And a last thought - I listen to BBC Africa Today every day, although Zambia is hardly ever mentioned (means they are keeping out of trouble, relatively speaking) it keeps me informed on major news on the continent.  I also receive two daily Google Alerts via email, one on Zambia and one on the president.  The Alerts collect all mentions in digital media on those two subjects.  It has been interesting getting used to the style of reporting that they employ and the marked contrast with the dear old BBC.  I can't quite put my finger on it but it seems to lack a certain sophistication. Having said that, laying out simply without nuance, exactly what you think and who is at fault, leaves the reader in no doubt where you stand on any given issue.   Consideration for any other viewpoint is not on the agenda.
